Sock Puppets!!
I created a bunch of random sock puppet characters one day out of boredom, and then a whole world exploded. Meet the gang... and a few clips from their home. (will try to get the quicktime up here asap so you can see them get down in action..)
Fooood!
Food is an awesome medium to work with...! I have been playing with the spontaneous logo in a variety of deliciousness.. coffee (side), eggs, pizza dough, jelly beans, tomato sauce, and heaps more. Some absolute disasters that I would not recommend anyone try unless they are alone so not to piss off their flatmates with overwhelming fumes of rotting eggs and such. But once you pass that hurdle it's hilarity at it's finest and spawns some gorgeous work!.. Party on homies.nano t-shirts !
I decided a while back that instead of a business card, I would design t-shirts for nanosleep.. and here are a couple that went out...
Oxymoronic
I started working with this idea of visual oxymorons, which evolved into this montage. So frequently we come across false emotion and misunderstood beauty that I began to play around with the ideas of human behaviour clashing with common oxymoron phrases.
'Clearly Misunderstood' was where I began. It was the idea of beauty or art that we could easily misread or judge without looking closer. You can let your mind play around with what could have been a mistake on a wall and turn it into art. Or you could see a person with unique beauty that you originally hadn't noticed before.
'Honestly Lying' is showing what we do so often in times of heartache. Put up a wall and go on as though we had never been hurt.
'Pretty Ugly' depicts the classic window to our soul (haha). Our eyes show everything, and though you could be the most beautiful outside, if your eyes show that you are dead and empty inside, your pretty damn ugly.
And that is as deep as I can manage without making you all (as well as myself!) cringe and throw your computer at the wall! I promise more fun and regular April silliness next time! :)

NEW!: Showreel 2008
Hiya!
My first post I thought I would introduce my very first showreel. This is work that you may currently view on my webpage, www.nanosleep.tv, which is a compilation of everything I had done while studying at Media Design School in Auckland this past year.
Coming from a Science background, this would be my first attempt into the motion design world and so though short and sweet, it has founded what is to become a life long obsession.
Please continue to visit, as I have a few more personal projects since graduation that I hope to post soon, plus a very special montage of photos!... in honour of my great lover. New Zealand.
